KTPG Subcommittees 2011-2012

All KTPG subcommittee meetings are open to the public.  The KTPG bylaws define certain subcommittees, and others may be created by a vote of the KTPG.  The bylaws place requirements on subcommittee composition, including:

  • Subcommittees must include elected members of the KTPG and may include other members of the public.
  • The number of elected members serving on a subcommittee must be less than a quorum of the full KTPG.
  • The number of elected members must be more than the number of public members.
  • The chair of the subcommittee must be an elected member.

Subcommittees make recommendations to the full KTPG.  For more information about subcommittees, please refer to the bylaws.  The current subcommittees as of April 2011  and their usual meeting schedule* were:

Subcommittees will change in April, 2012 as a result of the KTPG elections.

*Subcommittees generally meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month (at the time shown above) at Franklin Elementary School (4481 Copeland Ave., San Diego, CA 92116).  However, the meeting schedule may vary, depending on factors such as holidays and the amount of business pending for the subcommittee. 

We post an agenda at the Kensington branch of the San Diego library 72 hours ahead of each meeting.  You can also register with the City of San Diego to receive an agenda sent to you via e-mail.  To register, you can fill out a paper form at one of the KTPG meetings.  Times listed on the agenda are approximate. Items may be heard before, on, or after their listed times.

2011-2012 Subcommittee Meetings and Records

The table below lists meetings planned for 2011 for the standing subcommittees.  However, this schedule may change.  Unless otherwise noted, subcommittee meetings are held at Franklin Elementary Auditorium (4481 Copeland Drive, San Diego, CA, 92116).  The meeting time varies by subcommittee and is listed in the agenda.  Meetings may be called or moved with 72 hours' notice.  The KTPG bylaws do not require subcommittee minutes, and practices vary between the committees.  KTPG does require that the subcommittee record the wording of any successful motion, and to forward that motion to KTPG prior to the KTPG meeting where the item will be considered.

  • The KMAD subcommittee reports that they do not at this time have sufficient volunteers to continue with the signature drive, so the effort to produce a KMAD may end.
  • The Communications and Elections subcommittees are working together to promote the March, 2011 elections.
  • The traffic and safety subcommittee continues to study utility undergrounding, and will be considering traffic safety at Aldine and Monroe in an upcoming meeting.

  • The Elections subcommittee is the only subcommittee meeting February 23, 2011. They will be finalizing the ballot for the KTPG elections. Interested parties should attend or contact the chair, Sean Harrison, at sean@ktpg.org. February 23rd is the deadline to submit your name in order to have it appear on the ballot for the March, 2011 elections.

    • Information item: Review the procedures for, and the advisability of, permanently closing Aldine Drive between Fairmount Avenue and Van Dyke Avenue.
  • Project Review - 7:00pm
    • Action item: Redevelopment of former site of Pearson Ford - Arrange a driving tour of El Cajon Boulevard with Price Charities and YMCA representatives for the purpose of commenting on possible architectural styles. Recommend that committee members and members of the public, who are unable to participate bring photographs of potential structures for review by the Price/YMCA architectural team and the subcommittee.
    • Action item: Discussion of lack of receipt of Assessment letters from the city for Conditional Use Permits for wireless communications facilities at 4864 Lila Drive and 4030 Terrace Court and other issues relating to these projects.
