Bob Coffin, John M. Garrison, Gail Greer, Guy Hanford, Sean Harrison, Sherry Hopwood, and Pam Hubbell were each elected to a two-year term.
The KTPG has 115 elected members serving 2-year terms. Seven of the positions are elected one year, and 8 the next. In 2010 there are 7 seats up for election. As of the cut-off date for printing the ballots, the following 7 eligible candidates had declared their intention to run:
Candidates may also elect to run from the floor. Please see the KKTPG bylaws for more information about election procedures.
The KTPG modified their bylaws to make it easier to vote in the KTPG elections
The Election Subcommittee did not produce written notes from their January meeting. The following is a communication from David Moty, chair of the Election Subcommittee.
Over 130+ people are eligible to run for the KTPG board this March.
Rather than phoning eligible members of the public to ascertain their intentions, the Elections Subcommittee will be sending out an email to those who have provided an email address to the Secretary. This is a change from what was done last year when the number of eligible people was much lower.
The cut off date for a candidate having his or her name printed on the official ballot will be the evening of February 24th when the Election Subcommittee will meet again to finalize the ballot.
The ballot will be in alphabetical order.
In the interest of speed, the Election Subcommittee decided that speeches will be given in reverse alphabetical order rather than having speakers chosen from a hat.
At the February 10th meeting, the Election Subcommittee will be requesting volunteers to work on election night. We hope to get four or five more people besides the the members of the Election Subcommittee to volunteer to work that evening.
Shortly before the election, we hope to have the chair send out a community wide email to educate voters on the current requirements for ID.
Regards,
David Moty
