Please participate in the KTPG Elections

Election Details

  • The election will be held Wednesday March 14th, 2012, beginning at 6:00pm
  • The location will be Franklin Elementary Auditorium (4481 Copeland Ave., San Diego, CA, 92116) or as otherwise announced in the meeting agenda to be published here approximately 48 hours prior to the election.

Positions and Candidates

The KTPG has 15 elected members serving 2-year terms.  Seven of the positions are elected one year, and 8 the next.  In 2012 there are 7 seats up for election. Anyone who meets the requirements in the KTPG Bylaws is encouraged to participate. Those who wish to run for office should notify the KTPG election subcommittee or the KTPG chairperson, Gail Greer. Gail may be reached by email at ggreer.conservator[[at]]att.net

Candidates may also elect to run from the floor.  Please see the KTPG bylaws for more information about election procedures.

Voter Eligibility

  • The KTPG modified their bylaws to make it easier to vote in the KTPG elections
  • There is no requirement to have attended a KTPG meeting in the past
  • You still must register with the KTPG and provide the appropriate identification
    • For residents, only a government issued photo ID showing an address within the boundaries of the Kensington-Talmadge community is required.
    • If you are a resident, but have not updated your government issued photo ID, your existing ID may be combined with other identification such as a copy or an original utility or property tax bill, or 1st class mail addressed to the voter and delivered within the past 30 days.
    • For Property Owners who live out of the area, Government-issued photo identification plus documentation showing proof of property ownership within the Kensington-Talmadge boundaries is required. This can be done with an original or copy of a current property tax bill or deed.
    • Business operators who do not own their place of business must show proof of eligibility to vote on behalf of the business to the Elections Subcommittee on the night of election. This can be done with a letter of authorization on business letterhead.
