The Kensington-Talmadge Planning Group advises the City of San Diego on matters pertaining to land use and community character in the Kensington and Talmadge communities. Our meetings are usually held at Franklin Elementary Auditorium (4481 Copeland Ave., San Diego, CA) see map at right for KTPG boundaries and meeting location.
The KTPG has fifteen elected members. Members are elected for a two-year term, with terms staggered such that approximately half the seats are up for election in March of each year. Information on elections, including eligibility to vote and eligibility to run for election, is found in the KTPG bylaws.

KTPG meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of every month, although the schedule may vary. All meetings are open to the public. For more information (including location, agendas, and past-meeting minutes) please see the meetings tab.

The Kensington-Talmadge Planning Group has been formed and recognized by the City Council to make recommendations to the City Council, Planning Commission, City staff, and other governmental agencies on land use matters, specifically concerning the preparation of, adoption of, implementation of, or amendment to, the General Plan or a land use plan when a plan relates to matters within the Kensington-Talmadge community boundaries.
The Kensington-Talmadge Planning Group is bound by specific policies. These include, but are not limited to:
Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised is used when the Policy, the Administrative Guidelines, and the bylaws do not address an area of concern or interest.
The City of San Diego council adopted the current General Plan Update in 2008. Kensington and Talmadge also fall under the Mid City Communities Plan, which was adopted in 1998.
The KTPG.ORG website was started in 2009 by the KTPG Communications subcommittee. Certain historical information is maintained here in the archives. Prior to 2009, the Kensington Talmadge Business Association graciously allowed KTPG to post some documents on the KTBA website. You may still find historical information there while this webpage is being constructed.
