Kensington-Talmadge Planning Group
The Kensington-Talmadge Planning Group is officially recognized by the City of San Diego to represent community interests when implementing the Mid-City Communities Plan for Kensington and Talmadge.
Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month via Zoom unless otherwise posted. Please check the agenda in advance for meeting info.
The planning group consists of 13 members elected by the community (residents, business operators, and property owners) for 2-year terms — 6 elected in the odd years, 7 elected in the even years. Our bylaws can be found under the “Documents” tab. See Article V for our complete election rules.
KTPG meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 PM, typically via Zoom unless noted otherwise on the agenda. Some meetings may be held in person. In those cases, Zoom attendance is not available. Always check the current agenda. Agendas are posted at least 72 hours ahead of meetings.

Here's Why it Matters
The City is currently updating the Mid-City Communities plan which is a once-in-a-generation process that began in summer 2024 and is scheduled to end in fall 2026. In it, the City may propose zoning changes, and may or may not address other planning issues in the community. To assist, the City selected a 16-member working group to represent the community.
This process started with the compilation of an “Existing Conditions Atlas” and Appendix for Mid-City, and a letter of response from the Kensington-Talmadge Planning Group. Draft concepts were released in August of 2025.
See our visualizations of the Draft concepts in our January 19, 2026, slide presentation here.
